London Brunch: Latana Cafe, Fitzrovia

“I NEED EGGS, AVOCADO AND HALLOUMI”

My most frequent first world problems weekend whine.

Having had a fruitless shopping trip to find my sister a 40th birthday present (in the end I found Missoma & Astley Clarke online for the cutest evil eye bracelets), I was in danger of the dreaded Hanger kicking in. Luckily, Jake knew the perfect place. Any man who can find me food when I need it, is my idea of the modern Knight in Shining Armour….

The place was Latana Cafe in Fitzrovia, tucked down a cozy little road. With outdoor seating, (and eggs, halloumi and avocado on the menu), it was the perfect spot for some brunch on a sunny day.

Sticking to my guns, I managed to resist the French toast with matcha sugar,  berries, raspberry coulis and crème fraiche, and instead ordered the magic threesome I’d been craving. Jake opted for the wild mushrooms on sourdough with a poached egg, hummus and crispy shallot crumb with a side of Chorizo.

Big fan of a dippy yolk….

Hanger danger removed, I was happy it had almost hit, because I’d just discovered another little brunch spot….

Latana Cafe is in Fitzrovia and Shoreditch. Find out more on their website: http://lantanacafe.co.uk
