Every now and again a scrambled eggs comes along, which makes all other scrambled eggs pale in comparison.
And Legs scrambled eggs is one of them.
I’d just attended an Instagram workshop led by ZoboLondon at Hackney Walk– part of a series of events they were holding there. I’d left fired up, excited…. and hungry. Luckily Leg’s was across the road- a place I’d looked in a few times but was yet to try.
With it’s relaxed laid back (and stripped back) decor, Legs forms part of the new Hackney- where Temple of Hackney meets the traditional fried chicken shops and Aquascutum sits in contrast to the previous local shops. It seems effortlessly cool, with a focus on quality produce and wine from small producers (making me wish I had visited later in the day….)
Plus, with an Aussie founder, the Coffee is good…like properly good.
And then came the eggs. Bright orange, they were a colour I haven’t seen since we used to get fresh eggs from the hens back home. Buttery, and with thick slabs of smoked salmon on top. These were the scrambled eggs and salmon I’d been dreaming of.
Owing to my sweetcorn obsession (courtesy of Kaia at The Ned… I think actually I may soon be able to write a post on the ‘Best Corn On The Cob in London’…), we rather randomly ordered a side of the Grilled Corn with Miso Butter and Nori.
Well, I’m glad I went for random, because it was seriously good….
Legs- not only do you have the best scrambled eggs, but I’m left wanting to try more…
