Exploring London// Hemsley & Hemsley Afternoon Tea

Too often my posts are surrounded by the idea of ‘doing’ something, but I’ve realised that these days one of my favourite things is to have nothing planned, and to spend the day exploring different parts of London, taking up whatever opportunities arise.

I recently had one of these days when my mum was in town. We started in Green Park, enjoying the Spring sunshine and trying not to Dognap some of the gorgeous dogs. We then started to walk towards Bond Street….

On our way we stumbled across gorgeous houses, random bits of art and by Claridges, the most incredible flower shop- Wild Things Flowers.

Having realised we were getting peckish, we decided to pop into the Hemsley & Hemsley cafe in Selfridges, for a spot of Afternoon Tea.

There was smashed egg with truffle butter on a mini flaxseed roll, avocado, lime and smoked salmon on a carrot and quinoa crisp bread, and whipped goats cheese, beetroot, raw honey and bee pollen on a carrot and quinoa crisp bread.17498774_10154361477347409_5599613666231311202_n

Cake wise there was a chocbeet fudge bar with yogurt honey frosting, cinnamon banana bread, a coconut and mango passionfruit whip and lemon and raspberry cheesecake in an almond tart (my favourite!). All topped off with quinoa scones, with chia jam and clotted cream.

It turns out sometimes the best plans, are no plans, and we’d had an incredible day.
