Livia’s Kitchen Cream Free Cream Tea

love an Afternoon Tea. What isn’t there to love? Tea, cake, sarnies, scones (cheeky glass of champers….). In recent years I’ve found my tastes changing though- moving away from white flour ,butter filled cake, and more towards creations whipped up using nut butters and maple syrup. It was my mother who gave me my love of Afternoon Tea’s, so we thought it would make the perfect mother daughter afternoon trying Livia’s kitchen’s Cream Free Cream Tea.

The setting was Beach Blanket Babylon– admittedly a place I’m more used to drinking Porn Star Martinis in. Upstairs hides a beautiful airy space, perfect for hosting an Afternoon Tea. Awaiting was a beautifully set table, with goody bags on the chairs (which included a yummy sample of Pic’s peanut butter and Deliciously Ella vest tops). The table was filled with sandwiches, nut butters, teas, cakes, cookies and her famous Raw Millionaire Bites.  Livia and her elves greeted us before we sat down to tuck in…


Cookies and Scones

We started with the gluten free breaded sandwiches- my favourite was the one filled with tasty avocado smashed up. We dipped crudities and I was quickly piling into the sweet stuff. There were dense rich chocolate cakes and yummy cookies but the real revelation for me was the scones- piled high with almond butter and chia jam I helped myself to more than a few…


The Cream Free Cream Tea was a wonderful guilt free afternoon out. Events like this really prove that you don’t need dairy, gluten and refined sugar to create incredibly yummy treats. That said- I still wouldn’t have minded a cheeky glass of Champers….
